About This Project

General Overview

This mixed-use, 12-acre development in Gallatin involves the development of three commercial lots — one for a Publix supermarket and two for future use. Southern Site Contractors will handle the project’s mass excavation, blasting, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, water, electrical, and gas.

 

 

Challenges and Unique Features

The Newman’s Crossing job site is located in a highly visible area. There are nearby schools and churches, as well as an ongoing subdivision development across the street, so proper safety procedures are of the utmost importance. We are also performing much of the earthwork during the winter, which makes for less-than-ideal working conditions.

In addition to our own work on this job, Southern Site will also manage multiple subcontractors, who will perform the following work: traffic signal modifications, asphalt paving, striping, curb installation, irrigation, landscaping, site lighting, site electrical, and permanent signage.

 

Our Approach

Southern Site Contractors earned the contract for this project in June 2020, and we hope to finish our scope of work by June 2022. We plan to have the Publix supermarket building pad ready by September 2021. Our goal is to beat our scheduled milestones in a cost-effective and safe manner.
