Toby married his wife Anita in 1988. Their older son Vince builds and flips houses, and their younger son Houston is currently an intern with Southern Site. Toby likes to hunt and fish, but he spends most of his free time just hanging out with family and friends. He also is part of a group that builds handicap ramps for people who can’t afford them, which he says is “very gratifying to me personally.”
Toby attended Volunteer State Community College and Vanderbilt University. From 1986 to 1999, he owned and operated his own blacktop paving company. After that, he spent 20 years in construction jobs, working in leadership roles with a few different companies. Today, Toby has been part of the Southern Site team since 2018.
He enjoys coming to work because he likes helping people succeed and find solutions to their problems. Toby says his favorite aspect of Southern Site is that “we are trying to create opportunities for the future, and we take no shortcuts.”
