Hunter Hammond grew up in Cheatham County, Tennessee, and got his first taste of heavy equipment operating an all-terrain forklift at a commercial masonry shop. He really enjoyed it, and that started him down the path to heavy equipment and construction. Now, he’s working as one of our project estimators at Southern Site.
In Hunter’s words, “there are many different ways to approach a new project. Figuring out the best way is probably the most difficult part”–but that ‘difficult part’ is why he’s good at his job. With almost a decade in the industry, Hunter’s experience helps him decide which methods to use for construction projects so his team can be strategic and efficient every time.
For Hunter, each day brings its own set of challenges. If young people knew how many paths there are within the industry and how rewarding it is to be on a team working toward a common goal, they would realize that working in construction is a great opportunity. The excitement Hunter feels about Southern Site isn’t limited to construction–being a part of a rapidly growing young company is a thrill in and of itself.
When he’s not at Southern Site, Hunter likes hunting, fishing, playing softball, and pretty much anything that takes place in the great outdoors.
