David joined Southern Site in September of 2020 as our chief financial officer, which was a new position for us. His current priorities include budgetary projections, initiating a job costing system, implementing a new ERP system, and helping Ryan think about leadership positions and the scope and scale of responsibilities.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Florida, followed by an MBA at Emory University. David began his career in the construction materials industry with a cement contractor in 1998. Since then, he’s done many different things, but most recently, he worked to support a mergers and acquisitions team for one of the largest building materials companies in North America.
“From my days as a kid hanging out on job sites to more recent years volunteering on Habitat for Humanity sites, I have always enjoyed the building process,” David says. Regarding Southern Site specifically, he says that he enjoys “the entrepreneurial spirit that is prevalent throughout the company.” His previous company has 40,000 employees in the U.S., and David likes how “Southern Site gives me more of an ability to directly influence decisions, see the results of my actions, and take responsibility for getting things done.”
In his free time, David likes to spend time with his wife Kerri and their two college-aged daughters. He especially enjoys traveling and going to the beach.
